請看《中國日報(bào)》的報(bào)道:
The Chinese word tuhao, a popular expression used by netizens to refer to people with great wealth who spend money freely, has been included in a newly revised dictionary, triggering controversy among language experts。
“土豪”是網(wǎng)絡(luò)流行詞,用來指代那些揮金如土的有錢人,該詞因被收錄到新版詞典中而引發(fā)語言學(xué)專家的爭議。
土豪的對應(yīng)英文表達(dá)是tuhao,它的原義是仗著有錢欺凌他人的鄉(xiāng)下地主,在新版漢語詞典中,它的新定義是people who have a great deal of money, but who are lacking in education or correct values(富有錢財(cái)而缺少文化和正確價值觀的人)。不過有些語言學(xué)家并不認(rèn)同這一定義。
同被收錄進(jìn)該詞典的網(wǎng)絡(luò)新詞還有Tencent's WeChat app(微信)、out of contact(失聯(lián)),positive energy(正能量)和make complaints(吐槽),不過“屌絲”等熱詞則沒有收錄。
